Slit-lamp microscopy showed regenerating lens tissue grew from the peripheral to the central lens in a circular symmetrical pattern 2–3 months after surgery, reaching the center at 5 months post-surgery; direct illumination showed that the visual axis remained translucent. Diabetic Retinopathy Treatment The retina is the layer of the eye that is directly in the back of the eye. The retina sends the images that are seen to the brain. As we review in our previous post Diabetic Retinopathy is a disease of the retina. Many people who have diabetes will eventually get Diabetic Retinopathy.
