Refractive eye surgery is any eye surgery used to improve the refractive state of the eye and decrease or eliminate dependency on glasses or contact lenses. This can includevarious methods of surgical remodeling of thecornea or cataract surgery. The most commonmethods today use excimer lasers to reshape the curvature of the cornea. Successful refractiveeye surgery can reduce or cure common vision disorders such as myopia,hyperopia and astigmatism, as well asdegenerative disorders like keratoconus.

If after the pre-operative evaluation, the decision is made to proceedwith surgery, your information will be forwarded to the surgeon, a pre surgeryconsult with a surgeon will be scheduled. Post-operative management will beprovided by our doctors, and includes multiple visits over a period from thedate of surgery to include medical evaluation and management of the vision andcorneal healing. Evaluation of any additional needs such as reading glasses,sunglasses, or enhancement laser procedures is also included.
